Natalie Anzivino composite shoot at Manhattan Beach pier

After the Kelly Slater shoot from 2008, I wanted to illustrate the the surf skip in a local spot by doing multiple exposures on a single panorama.  So I called Natalie Anzivino.  She is the 3 times All Stars champion of the South Bay surf League.  She has beaten several World Tour Pros in various contests in California and Hawaii.  As this is early April, these shots were taken in a very chilly 54 degree water.  You would normally wear a warm wetsuit at that point.  But this shot was supposed to look like summer.  So she was a great sport and went in without a wetsuit for the several takes we had to do to get all the steps we needed.  Here is the main shot, as well as one of my buddy Todd Hara who was holding the flash bank and another of yours truly with Natalie cozily wrapped up in a dry towel after the shoot.  Notice the water droplets distorting the image on those "making of" shots.  Those had to be painstakingly removed or at least toned down on the final composite.
