Hiking in the Portuguese Bend natural preserve
I have been preparing a new set of panoramas for the PV Land Conservancy's annual calendar. Today was a glorious day weather wise so I went looking for Paintbrush Canyon. This is a rarely visited canyon because it is somewhat far into the preserve and not many people (other than mountain biker apparently) venture that far. But after a good hike I found it. It took me a while to find a good angle to really feature it and then I waited for the right light. It took a few hours but I came away with this shot:
